Retainer Instructions
To ensure your retainer lasts and maintains your beautiful smile, please follow these guidelines:
- Adjusting to Your New Retainer: You may find it difficult to speak initially. Practice speaking, reading, or singing aloud to help you adjust more quickly.
- Wear Your Retainer: Keep your retainer in at all times, unless instructed otherwise by your doctor.
- Remove When Eating or Drinking:Take it out for meals and when consuming anything sugary or colored. Always store it in its case to prevent loss or damage—pets love getting into them! Restaurants and school lunchrooms are notorious places for misplacing retainers!
- Handle with Care: Retainers are breakable, so treat them gently. If your retainer is lost or broken, contact us immediately or drop off your teeth model.
- Clean Daily: Brush your retainer thoroughly with a toothbrush and toothpaste or handsoap once a day, using cold to warm water
- Appointments: Always bring your retainer to your appointments.
- Swimming and Heat: Remove your retainer before swimming and keep it away from hot water, dashboards, pockets, washing machines, and napkins to prevent damage.
If you have any questions or concerns about your retainer, or if you believe it needs adjustment, please call us. Do not attempt to adjust it yourself. With proper care, your retainer can last for years!
